Music by the Mississippi – Night 1 at Treasure Island Amphitheater

MUSIC BY THE MISSISSIPPI

Mississippi music developed and grew from the slavery freedom movement of the 19th Century, into what has now become termed Mississippi Music - a mix of nearly all the music genres, Jazz, Folk, Rock, Blues Delta Blues. Now the Treasure Island Amphitheater has sought to capitalize on all these different genres and display them all in a single event, spanning two days, A festive music gathering, the Music by The Mississippi concert, on Friday, July 25th and Saturday 26th July.

MUSIC BY THE MISSISSIPPI AT TREASURE ISLAND AMPHITHEATER

Grammy Award Winning Rock Band, Soul Asylum, formed nearly four decades ago. Soul Asylum play a variety of Rock music, featuring Alt Rock, Pop Rock, Country Rock and Indie Rock. These guys are known for the philanthropic work, in raising much-needed funding through benefit concerts and their outstanding community contribution to the plight of, and the reunification of, missing children, evidenced by their Runaway Train music video in 1994. 

Country Blues musician, Charley Parr has been on the road since he began in the music industry nearly three decades ago. This man has quite a repertoire at his disposal, and is here to share some of it with the audiences. 

Austin City actor and musician, Shakey Graves, known more for his one-man band days, will be taking to the stage and displaying his enormous talent with a variety of his instruments. 

TREASURE ISLAND AMPHITHEATER

The Treasure Island, 16000 seating capacity amphitheater is largely flat, fairly close to the banks of the Mississippi River, as it flows through the town of Welch and Minnesota. Opened in 2017, the last ten years has seen a large number of superstars strutting this stage, entertaining the fans on a regular basis, and has become known as the 'Go To' venue for music concerts and entertainers.
